The American Legion Women's Auxiliary
Since 1919, the American Legion Women's Auxiliary has become the largest patriotic women's organization in the world. The American Legion Women's Auxiliary members know the definition of patriotism and what it means to be a responsible citizen. With over 900,000 current members the American Legion Women's Auxiliary are a strong voice advocating for veterans issues and supporting the programs of the American Legion.

Post 26 Women's Auxiliary
The American Legion Davenport Post 26 Women's Auxiliary is passionate about our community. We were charted in Davenport in 1922 with a total of 94 women on our charter. A mere three years after The American Legion Women's Auxiliary was established in the United States. Helping our community with programs such as the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State and the American Legion Auxiliary Junior Membership.
  Who are we?
We are the mothers, daughters, granddaughters, female veterans and military wives. We are working professional women, stay-at-home moms. actively retired, and Junior members. We understand the value of community service and know first hand that our freedoms don't come with out a price. We have the passion for helping others and the dedication for making the lives of our veteran and military families easier.
What is Girls State?
The American Legion Auxiliary Girls State is a unique citizenship training program in which Auxiliary members guide the youth of our nation toward an understanding , comprehension and appreciation of their roles as United States citizens. Girls State has provided a valuable learning ground for hundred of thousands of accomplished women.
  What is Junior Membership?
The American Legion Auxiliary Junior Membership program is a culmination of excellent youth programs geared toward educating youth individuals of the appreciation of United States citizenship. Including programs such as Spirit of Youth, Freedoms Foundation, Girls State, Girls Nation, and Juniors Patch Program.

Are you eligible for membership? Would you like to Join us? If you have served in the US Armed Forces during the dates below or are the mother, wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, or grandmother of someone living or deceased who served during these dates, you are eligible for membership.

April 6, 1917 - Nov. 11, 1918 : World War I
Dec. 7, 1941 - Aug. 15, 1945 : Merchant Marines (only eligibility)
Dec. 7, 1941 - Dec. 31 1946 : World War II
June 25, 1950 - Jan. 31, 1955 : Korean War
Feb. 28, 1961 - May 7, 1975 : Vietnam War
Aug. 24, 1982 - July 31, 1984 : Grenada/Lebanon
Dec. 20, 1989 - Jan. 31, 1990 : Panama
Aug. 2, 1990 - Present : Persian Gulf War
